The 2010 Business Focus exhibition
is officially a sell-out with over 70 businesses now
signed up to showcase their company, products and
services at the event in Peterborough on Wednesday
13 October.
The business-to-business
exhibition, which celebrates its tenth anniversary
this year, has been organised by Peterborough
Chamber of Commerce and the Business Club. Taking
place at the Holiday Inn Peterborough-West from
9am-5pm on Wednesday 13 October, the annual event
brings together businesses of all sectors and sizes
both as exhibitors and visitors to the popular
exhibition.
John Bridge OBE, Chief Executive
of co-organisers Peterborough Chamber of Commerce,
said: “This year businesses have needed little
persuading that exhibitions such as this provide an
unmissable opportunity to develop new working
relationships, and of course make a few of the sales
we’re all looking for. “Thanks to the support of
returning sponsors Peterborough City Council,
Opportunity Peterborough and Business Link, we are
delighted to have been able to extend the programme
this year to include a wide range of seminars
designed to assist the development of city
businesses.”
Experts in the fields of social
networking, international trade, online marketing,
business strategy and public sector procurement will
be holding free seminars throughout the exhibition
and fielding questions from individuals relevant to
their company’s circumstances.
Appointments will also be
available with procurement personnel throughout the
day, offering the city’s businesses the opportunity
to learn more about the procurement process and gain
a valuable insight into what organisations such Kier
Eastern are looking for.
John continued: “With over 70
exhibitors, seven different seminars and the option
of one-to-one procurement advice and support
provided by PERA, we are confident that this year’s
event provides a reason for every business to visit
the Business Focus exhibition.”
Councillor Marco Cereste, Leader
of Peterborough City Council, said: "We are
delighted to be supporting the Business Focus event
again this year. The event is an excellent
opportunity for local businesses to meet potential
new clients and suppliers, and to find out about
interesting opportunities which may be available to
them. "Most importantly the event will help to
promote increasing economic prosperity by enabling
local businesses to work together to create a strong
local economy, making Peterborough an attractive
destination for business investment."
Brian Soanes, Chief Executive of
co-organisers the Business Club, added: “Exhibitions
like this are not just about sales on the day. They
are about enabling both exhibitors and visitors to
enhance their public profile, extend their contact
base, develop their knowledge and even instigate
new, mutually-beneficial business partnerships. “You
can measure Business Focus’ success by the number of
exhibitors that we see return year on year. The
atmosphere on the day is always vibrant and with the
extended seminar programme this year we’re expecting
a record number of visitors through the doors.”
Business Focus 2010 will be officially opened by
Councillor Marco Cereste, Leader of Peterborough
City Council, at 9.00am on Wednesday 13 October
following a welcome speech by Gillian Beasley, Chief
Executive of Peterborough City Council.
